  12. Everything on the screen is on the Workspace.
  13. Windows and icons are displayed on it. The
  14. Workspace is the background on your screen.

  16. Press the MENU mouse button on that background
  17. to display the Workspace menu, which provides
  18. these options and submenus:

  20. Programs    Displays a menu of available
  21.         DeskSet tools and demonstration
  22.         programs.
  23.  
  24. Utilities    Displays a menu of commonly used
  25.         utilities and services.
  26.  
  27. Properties    Displays the Workspace Properties
  28.         window, where you can customize
  29.         the look and behavior of your
  30.         desktop.
  31.  
  32. Help        Opens the Help Viewer to the
  33.         table of contents for the
  34.         DeskSet help handbooks.
  35.  
  36. Desktop Intro    Starts the tutorial in the
  37.         basics of using OpenWindows.
  38.  
  39. Exit        Choose Exit to leave the 
  40.         Workspace and return to a tty
  41.         command-line interface.

  48. This is the header, footer, or side of a window 
  49. that contains an application program.

  51. The border thickens when the window is selected.

  53. To select a window, point to the border and
  54. click SELECT.

  56. From the border, you can display a Window menu 
  57. with options for closing, moving, resizing,
  58. repainting, and quitting the window.

  66. This is a closed window for an application.

  69. application. For example, the File Manager icon

  88. Pins up a pop-up window for continued use.

  90. When the pin is lying on its side, the pop-up 
  91. window is unpinned. The window will be dismissed
  92. the next time you give a command.

  94. To pin up the window, click SELECT on the
  95. pushpin. The window is pinned when the pin pops
  96. into the hole.

  98. To unpin the window, click SELECT on the pushpin
  99. to pop it out of the hole. This dismisses the
  100. window.

  104. Resize Corner
  105.  
  106. Use the Resize corner to expand or contract the
  107. window:
  108.  
  109. 1. Move the pointer to any Resize corner. The
  110.    pointer changes from an arrow to a circle. 
  111.  
  112. 2. Press SELECT and drag the pointer. The Resize
  113.    corner is highlighted. A bounding box shows
  114.    you the location of the new window border.  
  115.  
  116. 3. Release SELECT. The window is redisplayed in
  117.    the new size, and the contents adjust to fit
  118.    within the borders of the window.

  120. To change only the height or the width of the
  121. window, hold down the Control key while
  122. pressing SELECT on the Resize corner.
